GOJI STUDIOS

We understand the value of craft in our products. Each step — from knitting to dyeing to sewing to packing — needs the skilful hands and eyes of human beings. We appreciate the attention to detail and capable application of craft, not just at House of Blanks, but within the community.

Ashley and Ken of Goji Studio invited us into their space to capture their creative process and growing art form. Goji Studio plays in a medium between ceramics and food. There's no better word for what happens here than that: play. After spending the day with Ashley and Ken, we learned about the role that art, experimentation, and fun have in their practice. While still new to their ceramics journey, Ashley and Ken ambitiously build their craft and appreciate what it takes to master new skills.

As a trained chef at three-Michelin Star restaurant, The Fat Duck, Ken honed his craft to the highest standards of the fine dining world. With Ashley, he's shifted this experience to a new endeavour: K. Dinners. A unique narrative told through food, each dinner tells a story with thoughtful ingredients. These ingredients are enhanced by the handmade wares on which they are served. Ashley and Ken create not only each dish but the dishes themselves. Patrons are able to purchase any piece from which they've eaten to further the memory of the meal.

We were honoured to learn their story, share their space, and connect through the values of craft, consideration, and the pursuit of continued improvement.
